Potluck Dinner and Slideshow
Saturday March 24th from 6:00-9:00pm
Spoke the Hub’s Main Space @ Gowanus Arts
295 Douglass Street (3rd Floor, buzzer #6)
Come hear about our most recent trip to Haiti in February and get an update from Elise Long on the CCH “Truck Project”, the girls at the center, and other new initiatives; hear from architects Susan and Ben Baxt about the new “Le Reconfort” Project to expand the current school, and to build a health clinic and a community center on site; learn about a new nurses training program from Gabriella Dennery; and hear about other service opportunities from Brittanie Booker, a recent UVM graduate who also worked in a children’s hospital and planted trees with a reforestation organization after we left the CCH.
We will have slides, films, and stories to share plus an informal new dance performance by Elise’s Saturday “Creative Clubhouse” posse composed of altruistically minded kids and adults. Also, we have “letters” from the girls to hand out to their local pen-pals here, so don’t miss this once a year get together!
Please RSVP if you will be able to attend and what food or drink you will be bringing to share.
