Summer Day ZOOM Camps for Young Artists
July 6 – August 28 2020
Where else can serious young performers sharpen their dance, singing and acting skills; design, sew and model their own clothing lines; AND write, star in, film, edit and produce their own short films? TRIPLE THREAT PERFORMER’s CAMP (Grades 5-7)
– BROADWAY, HERE I COME! (Two Week Camp) July 6-17, 2020
Half Day Zoom Camp 9:00am-12:30pm $600
w/ Stav German (Voice), Richard Padro (Theater) & Ann Dragich (Dance)
Daily Voice, Dance & Acting Technique Classes. Culminating in Zoom Pre-Recorded Performance.
Instructors: Richard Padro (Acting), Stav German (Voice), Ann Dragich (Dance)
A two week, musical theater intensive aimed at nurturing “triple threat” performers who can sing, dance and act! The two week intensive will end with a shared, virtual performance of song, musical theater choreography and monologues open to STH’s Zoom public.
VOICE: Students will study the fundamentals of vocal technique and breath management, as well as exploring different timbres and sounds to increase their vocal and expressive range. They will also gain practical tools for heightening song interpretations, performance quality, and their ability to tell a story with their voice through song.
DANCE: Students will learn basic tap and jazz dance techniques, study famous dance clips, and fine tune their own physical and musical performance skills. They will also learn a piece of musical theater choreography to be performed at the end of camp in the virtual “recital”.
ACTING: Students will study the fundamentals of monologue presentation as well as exploring character development and voice awareness. They will also be introduced to the creative process through sensory awareness exercises, improvisation, movement and vocal exercises, all culminating in a virtual dramatic presentations at the end of camp.

July 20-August 28, 2020 1:30-5:00 PM $350 a week
For young, wanna be movie stars, screenwriters, directors, camerawo/men and editors, Spoke the Hub’s film camps will expose young film-makers to many different approaches to the art of film-making. Kids can attend for one week, or come all summer long! Culminating in weekly Zoom screenings.
Different themes to be tackled each week, include –

Week 4 / July 27-31 Visual Poetry & Experimental Film
Week 5 / August 3-7 Music Videos
Week 6 / August 10-14 Mockumentaries & Documentaries
Week 7 / August 17-21 Short Narrative & Dramatic Films

SEWING & CLOTHING DESIGN (Grades 5-7)

Young artists will take their original clothing designs from the sketchbook all the way to a ZOOM fashion show runway! Fashionistas will learn to sew/assemble/repurpose their own clothing and then will model one or two of their original creations at the end of the week on Spoke the Hub’s pop-up ZOOM catwalk.
