WINTER FOLLIES VIRTUAL SHOWCASE THIS SUNDAY EVENING @ 7:30PM!
WATCH WINTER FOLLIES ‘24 for FREE!
Spoke the Hub returned to the Old First Church in Park Slope last Saturday night for a delightfully diverse evening of New Dance, Comedy, Theatre & Performance ART by almost two dozen emerging and emerged performance artists. Each artist/group presented 5 minutes of their own work and at the end of the evening, the audience got to vote on which artist/group they would like to see a whole evening production by next Fall at Spoke the Hub.
MISSED THE LIVE SHOW?
Then join us FOR FREE this coming Sunday evening at 7:30pm to view the virtual showcase in the comfort of your own living room. Just subscribe to Spoke the Hub’s monthly e-newsletter which will include the free link for the Sunday show plus information on all the artists, and will keep you informed of all STH’s exciting upcoming events and opportunities for artists in 2024 at the WHEELHOUSE THEATRE in the Spoke the Hub Re:Creation Center on Union Street in Brooklyn – “where all things comes together”.
WANT TO ALSO HELP ELECT “THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE” ARTIST OR GROUP
TO BE PRODUCED BY STH NEXT FALL?
Although everyone can enjoy this uplifting virtual showcase for free, we also hope you will consider buying a ticket online to the Sunday virtual showcase which will also give you the opportunity to help “elect” the artists of your choice for their own weekend production at Spoke the Hub next Fall!
Please Note: Only ticket holders can vote – one person, one ticket, one vote .
We will send you your special link for your online ballot and directions on how to vote before the show. Ballots and comments can be submitted until 5:00pm on Monday February 5th in case you have a problem voting or want to write more extensive and thoughtful layperson “reviews” on the works shown (which we will share with the artists.)
In the past, WINTER FOLLIES has been generously supported by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, but this year, due to the city’s ongoing budget crises, Spoke the Hub has received zero outside funding for WINTER FOLLIES and our annual Spring LOCAL PRODUCE Festival, also offered free to the public for the past 32 years. Thus, Spoke the Hub needs your tax-deductible contributions more than ever this year to ensure we can continue to serve ALL artists and can continue to produce events like WINTER FOLLIES and LOCAL PRODUCE for many more decades to come.
– if you watch the show for free on Sunday and find value and inspiration in what we do, please send in your post-performance donations and become an honored “Friend of Spoke the Hub Dancing” this season.
Thank you for embracing and supporting all the Arts, Artists and small “mom & pop” community dance and arts centers like Spoke the Hub. In these somewhat dark and scary times, I believe we can all use this infusion of energy, imagination, good will and coming together-ness even more !
With Love & Gratitude,
