An Introductory Latin Dance Workshop For All

Come learn Salsa, Bachata and Cumbia Dance Basics followed by an informal performance of original choreography by guest artist Angélica Barbosa

LOCATION: RHINECLIFF, NEW YORK, Morton Memorial Library & Community House*   82 Kelly Street, Rhinecliff, NY*
Take Amtrak train to Rhinecliff station stop, a gorgeous hour and 40 minute ride from Penn Station. The Morton Memorial Library is located just a short walk from the train station.

 

Angélica Barbosa

Angélica Barbosa is a young, emerging Latina choreographer who was born and raised in Colombia. She received  her BFA in Performing Arts at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, Colombia), and Institut del Teatre (Barcelona, Spain) in the programs of Choreography & Interpretation and Dance Pedagogy. She moved to New York to continue her professional training at the Ailey School and as a scholarship trainee with Limón Pro. She is currently doing an Administrative and Marketing internship with GALLIM dance company and is a teaching artist with Notes in Motion and Ballet Hispánico. She has Performed works by José Limón, Andrea Miller (GALLIM), Kayla Farrish, Rosalie Jones (DAYSTAR), Valerie Green (Dancentropy) and Branndi Lewis.. Improvisation is her main method to research, compose stories and immerse herself in the poetic world of movement and “danced fantasies”.  Instagram @danced.fantasies
